Founded by the late Apostle Alonzo Wade on December 11, 2002 as Philadelphia Christian Center Ministries in Modesto, CA, after a few months of meeting in his home with a small leadership team, the church held its first public worship service in April 2003. Later the same year the church became known as Philadelphia Worship Center.
Pastor Michelle Walker-Wade, licensed and ordained by Apostle Dr. Cynthia L. Chess, and having spent many years working in the ministry, joined Pastor Wade as co-pastor in January 2011. Convinced God gave Apostle Wade and Pastor Michelle an apostolic mandate to teach, train, and send believers outside of the church walls, in May 2011 the ministerial focus shifted to that of a ministry training center and adopted the dba of Philadelphia Ministries & Training Center (PMTC). PMTC’s mission was to train believers to minister to the ‘total man’ – the body, soul, and spirit of man.
Although they were small in number, PMTC held regular services including prayer, bible study, a worship experience, and fellowships. Additionally, they performed community service as a collective body and individually, and launched a health & nutrition education outreach ministry called Eat Right Pray Right in response to the growing epidemic of diabetes and obesity in the local area.
